Study of Antifungal Activity Using Three Chinese Medicine Herbs

Abstract Chinese medicine herbal extracts are ideal candidates to replace toxic industrial wood preservatives thanks their antifungal and nontoxic properties. To investigate the activity of medicines, in this study, Trametes versicolor fungi were selected as test strains evaluate properties Fructus Cnidii, Forsythiae, Radix Stemonae. The results show that Cnidii has a strong inhibitory effect against T. versicolor, whereas Forsythiae Stemonae have weak effect. hyphae growth cycle shows three studied herbs disrupt versicolor. Moreover, instead direct killing, demonstrated inhibition ability. Furthermore, morphological toxicological evidence affected expression proteins or enzymes achieve goal. In sum, study could provide both primary data theoretical foundation for further developing applying traditional green type preservative.
